My love for dance began long before I ever stepped into a classroom. As a former drill team member, captain, and member of the 2004 TDEA All-State Dance Team, dance has been a constant source of discipline, confidence, leadership, and joy throughout my life. Those experiences shaped not only the dancer I became, but also the educator I am today.
For more than 14 years, I have had the privilege of teaching and inspiring students through dance education at both the middle school and high school levels. Throughout my career, I have taught dancers of all experience levels, from beginners discovering movement for the first time to advanced performers pursuing excellence in the classroom, on the stage, and in competition. While I am grateful for the awards, championships, and professional opportunities I have experienced, the most meaningful part of my work has always been helping students discover their potential and build confidence in themselves.
I believe dance is about much more than technique and performance. It provides opportunities to develop perseverance, accountability, teamwork, resilience, and leadership—skills that extend far beyond the dance floor. My goal is to create an environment where students feel challenged, supported, and empowered to grow both as dancers and as individuals.
Beyond the classroom, I have been fortunate to contribute to the profession through adjudication, curriculum development, professional learning, and service to dance education organizations. I am passionate about supporting fellow educators and strengthening opportunities for students across all levels of dance education.
When I am not teaching or choreographing, I enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time with family. As one of six siblings and a proud aunt to four nephews, I value relationships, community, and the importance of creating meaningful connections with others. These values guide both my personal life and my work as an educator.
At the heart of everything I do is a simple belief: every student deserves to feel seen, valued, and capable of achieving more than they ever thought possible.
